Griffin Reinhart

Griffin Reinhart ( born January 24, 1994 West Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since 2010 he plays for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League on the position of the defender. He is the son of former NHL pros Paul Reinhart. His brothers Max and Sam are also professional hockey players.

Career

Reinhart was selected in the WHL Bantam Draft in third position from the Edmonton Oil Kings in 2009. The season 2009/10 he spent for the most part but still at the Vancouver NW Giants in the British Columbia Major Midget League, for which he had gone in the early season on the ice. Since 2010, he established part of the team of the Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League, with whom he won the 2011/12 season the championship in the WHL.

After his participation in the CHL Top Prospects Game, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 ranked fourth by the New York Islanders. Shortly after, he signed with the Islanders a three-year contract. In the 2012/13 season he was captain for the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Internationally

Reinhart took the Team Canada Pacific as captain at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge in 2011 and won the bronze medal with his team. For Canada Ivan Hlinka while playing at Memorial Tournament in 2012 and at the U20 World Youth Championship 2013.
