Grind Line

The Grind Line was a forward line of the Hockey Teams Detroit Red Wings of the North American NHL. The series was the "Crash Line" of the New Jersey Devils modeled in 1995 and compiled by coach Scotty Bowman.

She had the capacity to make the so-called dirty work, how to prevent attacks of the enemy by body checks and particularly tough game and to wear down the opponent. Mostly played the " Grind Line" against the playful best series of the opposing team.

The original " Grind Line" was the mid-nineties from Kirk Maltby, Kris Draper and Joe Kocur. In the battle for the Stanley Cup in 1997, the series was particularly effective against the so-called "Legion of Doom " line of Philadelphia Flyers to Eric Lindros, John LeClair and Mikael Renberg. In the end they won the Stanley Cup.

At the beginning of the season 1997/98 was replaced in the " Grind Line" Joe Kocur by Darren McCarty. In this new formation, the series existed until 2005 and helped the profits of two more Stanley Cups. After the lockout McCarty was paid out his contract in the summer of 2005 and he had to find a new team. So far, no new ' Grind Line " was formed, which was this name and equitable.
