Guru Ram Das
Life
Ram is considered as an example of compassion and selfless service. He also composed verses which were henceforth used for the marriage ceremony. In 1577 he bought land of Mughal emperor Akbar and his followers founded the town Ramdaspur (also called Chak Guru ), today Amritsar.
