Guspini

Guspini is a city in the province of Medio Campidano in Sardinia with 12,163 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012). Guspini lies 126 m above sea level and is 30 km from the provincial capital Sanluri and 14.6 km from the train station in San Gavino Monreale.

History

Guspini was already settled in vornuraghischer time. The present town was built in the Middle Ages. In the 19th century it has been suggested Guspini, mined galena and sphalerite in the mines of Monte Vecchio and Gennamari. Today, however, you live in Guspini of agriculture, tourism and small to medium enterprises. Near Guspini there are some very well-preserved Nuraghe.

During the Second World War was a military airfield ( ⊙ 39.6138888888898.6877777777778 ) at Guspini (Sat Zeppara ). A few remnants of the system are still available.
