Guys and Dolls

Guys and Dolls is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser singing. The book is by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling on motifs of the short story The Idyll Of Miss Sarah Brown by Damon Runyon, more plot elements and characters were borrowed from other stories Runyons, especially from Pick the Winner. The premiere took place on 24 November 1950 46th Street Theatre in New York. With 1200 performances, the musical was a huge success. The piece was produced by Cy Feuer and Ernest Martin, George S. Kaufman directed, Michael Kidd worked out the choreography.
