Hadrut Province (NKR)

Hadrut (Armenian Հադրութ, also Hadrout ) is a province of the internationally unrecognized Republic of Nagorno Karabakh, capital is Hadrut. The province was established in 1991 by the Azerbaijani Parliament merged with the province to Martuni district Xocavənd as part of the official resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, but this was not implemented by the conflict. After the occupation of the south parts of Azerbaijan by the Armenian army in 1993, the province also administers parts of the Azerbaijani Fizuli district and the entire district Cəbrayıl. An eastern part of the province is controlled by Azerbaijan.

The province has an area of ​​1876.8 square kilometers and according to the census of Nagorno-Karabakh from 2005 12 005 inhabitants was 6.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the province are a city, eight major cities and 20 municipalities.
