Han Xiang

Han Xiangzi (Chinese韩湘子, Pinyin Hán Xiāngzǐ, W.-G. Han Hsiang -tzu ), and Han Xian Zi, is a famous Taoist Immortal Chinese mythology. It belongs to the group of the Eight Immortals.

Supposedly Han Xiangzi was the nephew or great-nephew of the scholar Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty.

According to legend, he was a musician and a hermit. He gained immortality through meditation and is usually depicted with fishing drum and rattle, since the Qing dynasty rather with a flute. He is also the patron saint of musicians.
