Hannes Hyvönen

Hannes Ossian Hyvönen ( born August 29, 1975 in Oulu ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who has played throughout his career for various teams in the Swedish Elitserien, the Finnish SM- liiga and the Kontinental Hockey League on the position of the right winger.

Career

Hyvönen first went through the junior teams of Kärpät Oulu and Turku TPS before he graduated in the 1994/95 season his first games for Turku in Finland's first league. The Finn remained until the end of the 1997/98 season with TPS and won the 1997 European Hockey League with the team. Following the striker moved to the Espoo Blues, from where he went in 1999/ 00 to HIFK Helsinki.

In summer 2001, it drew the winger to North America. There he had a contract with the San Jose Sharks, a franchise of the National Hockey League, signed, who had chosen him already in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the ninth round at 257th place. The Sharks put Hyvönen time being in their American Hockey League farm team, the Cleveland Barons, a. However, in the course of the season 2001/ 02 he also denied six NHL games. After the season, San Jose transferred him as part of the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 to the Florida Panthers, but put him on the waiver list. From there, the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Finns took under contract. Hyvönen denied the beginning of the 2002/03 season in the NHL squad and ran in 36 games.

In January 2003, Hyvönen returned to Europe and played until November 2004 Färjestad BK in the Swedish Elitserien, but was then released to Ilves Tampere in his Finnish homeland. 2005 he moved to Fribourg- Gottéron in the Swiss National League A. After only 16 games, he returned to Finland for Jokerit Helsinki back. For the season 2006/ 07 he spent a year with his parent club Kärpät Oulu, he left again in the summer of 2008, when he signed a contract with the Swedish first division club Södertälje SK. There, however, the Finn did not linger long, as his contract has already been resolved by the end of November, Sweden. Hyvönen then joined to the HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.

In January 2010, Dinamo Minsk Hyvönen gave to the Ak Bars Kazan and in return received a compensation payment. With Kazan Hyvönen reached the playoff finals, defeated in this HK MVD Balaschicha 4-3 and won the Gagarin Cup. Despite this success, he received no contract extension. At the beginning of the season 2010/11 he received a short-term contract for four matches for the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers of the National League A before he was hired by the HC Traktor Chelyabinsk in November 2010. In January 2011 his contract was dissolved and Hyvönen returned to HIFK back .. After ten games for HIFK was dissolved his contract again in March. After that, he was without a club before he was obliged by the end of September 2011 Färjestad BK.

His last career stop was the Karlskrona BK before he announced his resignation in December 2012.

Internationally

For Hyvönen Finland took part in the A World Championships 2008 and 2009. At the World Championships 2008 he won the bronze medal with his team.
