Happily Divorced

Happily Divorced is a designed by Fran Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson and inspired mainly by their experience American sitcom that revolves around a florist from Los Angeles who finds out after 18 years of marriage that her husband is gay. The series was aired on the U.S. cable channel TV Land between 2011 and 2013. It is the third self-produced by TV Land broadcast for Hot in Cleveland and Retired at 35

In August 2013, the series was discontinued.

Action

Drescher plays a florist from Los Angeles, Fran Lovett, and learns one day by her husband Peter, that he is gay. Since it is neither of the two can afford to move out, they are still alive after the divorce - mostly peaceful - under one roof. While she tries to deal with the new conditions of the relationship, they want to jump back into the " dating pool " and find new love.

Development and production

Happily Divorced is inspired by the real life of the series creator Fran Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson. The two were already in high school a couple and got married in 1978. In 1999 she got divorced. Later, Jacobson outed before Drescher as gay, but the two remained good friends. 2010 started the couple who has previously worked together on Drescher 's sitcom The Nanny success to develop the new show based on her life experiences. Originally planned Drescher Happily Divorced only to write and produce, but has decided to take on the lead role. In November, 2010, TV Land green light for a pilot episode. On 21 March 2011 the station announced a first 10 episodes comprehensive to produce season. The show will be added to the CBS Radford Studios in the " Studio City " in Los Angeles in front of a live audience.
