Harry Anderson

Harry Laverne Anderson ( born October 14, 1952 in Newport, Rhode Iceland ) is an American actor, writer and magician.

Life

Anderson attended North Hollywood High School. He first worked as a magician and entered the early 1980s several times on Saturday Night Live on. Moreover, he had in the sitcom Cheers, from 1982 a recurring role. In 1984 he received the lead role as Judge Harry T. Stone in the series Night Court, which he played until 1992 in 193 episodes, and for which he was nominated three times for an Emmy Award. He also wrote several screenplays for the series and resulted in two episodes directed the film. Between 1993 and 1997 he played the lead role in the sitcom The Trouble with Dave, which was based on the life of Dave Barry. For this series he wrote screenplays. In 1996 he took over the lead role of Elwood in the comedy My friend Harvey. His other credits include guest appearances on Parker Lewis - The Lose, Kiss ' me, John and Superman - Lois & Clark, as well as a starring role in the Stephen King adaptation Stephen King's It.

Anderson is married to his second wife and has two children.
