Harry Spanjer

Henry John "Harry" Spanger ( born January 9, 1873 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, † July 1958 in St. Petersburg, Florida ) was an American boxer in the lightweight and welterweight.

Spanger took part in the Olympic Games in 1904. He defeated there the first American Jack Egan at lightweight and thus won the gold medal. He then took a short time to gain weight and additionally took part in the competitions in the welterweight class, where he won the silver medal. In the final, he lost against his compatriot Albert Young.

Spanger, making it one of only four boxers who have ever taken more than one medal at the same Olympics.
