Harve Presnell

Harve Presnell ( born George Harvey Presnell, born September 14, 1933 Modesto, California, † June 30, 2009 in Santa Monica, California ) was an American film and theater actor.

Life

Harve Presnell graduated after attending the High School, the University of Southern California and was then trained as an opera singer. At the age of 16, he was on stage for the first time. In November 1960, Presnell on Broadway in the musical The Unsinkable Molly Brown in the role of the husband of the Titanic survivor Molly Brown ( Tammy Grimes ) to see. By February 1962 he had 532 appearances in that role. Also successful was his involvement in the musical Annie, where he total of 2,377 times on stage from April 1977 to January 1983.

From the early 1960s to Presnell had been seen in films and television series. From the mid- 1990s, he was in his role as a mischievous father-in- car seller Jerry Lundegaard (played by William H. Macy ) in the movie Fargo by the Coen brothers to a sought-after character actor. In so many different series such as Star Trek: Voyager, Dawson's Creek, but especially as Mr. Parker in The Pretender, he was seen in striking roles. He also starred in the award-winning film productions such as 1998 in Saving Private Ryan by Steven Spielberg and 2006 in Flags of Our Fathers by Clint Eastwood in front of the camera. One of his last roles he played in 2007 as a congressman in the film comedy Evan Almighty.

Presnell was married twice. From a first marriage he has three children. From 1966 until his death in June 2009, he was married to Veeva Suzanne Hamblen.
