Hauskirchen

House churches is a municipality with 1233 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Gaenserndorf district in the Austrian state of Lower Austria.

Geography

House churches located in the northeastern wine district in Lower Austria, about 15 km east of Mistelbach. Through the village flows the Zaya. The area covers 22.04 square kilometers. 3.95 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality comprises the three villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

  • House Churches ( 570)
  • Prinzendorf Zaya ( 493 )
  • Rannersdorf an der Zaya (167 )

The municipality comprises the cadastral house churches, Prinzendorf and Rannersdorf.

Is surrounded by the municipalities Großkrut house churches, Neusiedl an der Zaya, Wilfersdorf and Zistersdorf.

History

Early written records tell of the building of a church and Parish established in 1150 by Hugo of Liechtenstein.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1265 inhabitants. In 1991, the municipality had 1273 inhabitants, 1981 and 1364 in 1971, 1450 inhabitants.

Policy

Mayor of the municipality is Helmut doctor, office manager Monika Geyer. In the council there after the municipal elections in 2010 for a total of 19 seats following distribution of seats: 15 ÖVP, SPÖ 4, no other seats.

Culture and sights

The parish church of house churches to St. Lawrence still has a Romanesque core. The Gothic choir dates from the 14th century, the north aisle and the nave vaults from the 15th century. The church was remodeled in the Baroque and expanded, and took its present form during renovations in the years 1897 until 1899. The early baroque, heavily modified over the centuries the castle house churches originally formed together with the parish church of a weir.

Situated on a hill parish church of Prinzendorf Zaya to St. Mark was built in the 15th century, the Baroque style. The planning of the elongated baroque building of the castle Prinzendorf Franz Anton Pilgram was involved. The castle is owned by the artist Hermann Nitsch, who held here regularly since 1971 his " Orgies and Mysteries " matches.
