Héctor Faubel

Héctor Faubel Roji ( born August 10, 1983 in Llíria ) is a Spanish motorcycle racer.

Career

Héctor Faubel began at the age of ten years with the Motorcycling, 1993, he won a regional minibike championship in Spain. In 1997 he moved to the road racing and participated in the Spanish 125cc Championship, which he finished in fifth place. The following year he won the Spanish Aprilia 125 cc Cup. Faubel started up in 2002 in the Spanish Motorcycle Championships and won there in 2002 in the 250 cc class with Aprilia for the title.

His debut in the World Motorcycle Championship gave Héctor Faubel as a wildcard rider in the Grand Prix van Spain in 2000 in the 125 cc class on an Aprilia. As a result, he started up at the 2001 World Cup staged in Spain runs, but could not go into the points here.

For the 2002 season, Héctor Faubel joined permanently in the Motorcycle World Championship, where he started a low profile for the Aspar team of four -time world champion Jorge Martínez to 2004.

In 2005 Faubel changed within the team in the 125cc class, where he achieved his breakthrough. Already in his second 125cc race, the Grand Prix of Portugal, he reached second place his first podium, he closed the season as ninth position overall.

In 2006 he succeeded in the Grand Prix of Turkey, his first Grand Prix victory. After another victory at Valencia race and a total of five podium finishes, Faubel was at the end of the season, behind his countryman and team-mate Álvaro Bautista and the Finnish KTM riders Mika Kallio, third in the 125 cc World Championship.

In the 2007 season Héctor Faubel struggled with Gabor Talmacsi, one of his teammates, to the last race for the championship crown. At the last Saionlauf in Valencia, the two were far outpaces the rest of the field and fought for the victory. Faubel trying a long time to block with Hungary partly unfair means, so that the following driver could catch up with the duo and bring Talmacsi so valuable championship points, but did not succeed. Although Héctor Faubel won the race, Gabor Talmacsi secured by second place but with five points for the title.
