The World Motorcycle Championship 2010 was the 62nd in the history of FIM motorcycle road racing World Championship.
In the MotoGP class were 18 and discharged 17 races in the Moto2 class and the class up to 125 cc.
Scoring
World Champion will be the one driver or the designer, which until the end of season the most points accumulated in the World Cup. The distribution of points, the placings in the overall results of each race are taken into account. The fifteen first-placed rider in each race will receive points according to the following scheme:

- The existing since 1949 250 cc class in 2010 was replaced by the Moto2 class in which is run with 600cc unit engines from Honda.
- The Japanese Grand Prix was originally scheduled for 25 April, but was a few days before moved to Iceland due to the blocking of a large part of European airspace following the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano on October 3.
- The Grand Prix of Great Britain was first staged back on the Silverstone circuit since 1986, the Donington Park replaced. In the race calendar was originally intended to the Grand Prix of Hungary, who belonged to the Motorcycle World Championship for the last time in 1992 and was to take place on the Balaton ring back. In March 2010, the Grand Prix was, like last year, canceled. In its place, the Grand Prix of Aragon, which will take place at Motorland Aragon in Spain.
- At the Grand Prix of Qatar Loris Capirossi rode his 300th race in the Motorcycle World Championship.
