The World Motorcycle Championship season 1968 was the 20th in the history of FIM motorcycle road racing World Championship.
In the classes to 500 cc and 250 cc was ten, played six races in the class up to 350 cc of seven, 3, in the class up to 125 cc of nine, in the class up to 50 cc of five and at the sidecars.
Scoring
- The number gewerteter runs was calculated with an even number of races held by halving this number and then added with one. With six races so four were included in the championship standings.
- If an odd number of races held, the number of runs was added to one and then halved. With seven races thus four were included in the ranking.
