The railway station is Heerhugowaard Heerhugowaard in the Netherlands on the railway line Nieuwediep -Amsterdam. The line was opened in 1865. 1898, the route north of the railway station lying was built to Hoorn. The current station has three tracks, there is a waiting building, which was built in 1989.

History

A first standard station of the Dutch State Railways [ SS fifth class ] existed from 1862 to 1967 and was canceled. From 1967, there was the Standard Station of the architect Cees Douma. Between 1948 and 1976, was named the station Heerhugowaard - Broek op Langedijk. In 1989, finally, a new station was built with waiting room. The architect of this station is Rob Steenhuis.

Heerhugowaard has a very good connection with the province of North Holland. Both in the direction of Hoorn and Alkmaar direction, Castricum, Zaandam, Amsterdam and Haarlem. Also take intercity trains, among other direction Leiden, The Hague, Arnhem.
