Heinrich von Pierer

Heinrich von Pierer ( born January 26, 1941 in Erlangen, actually, Heinrich Karl Friedrich Eduard Pierer of Esch ) is a German manager. He was from 1992 to 2005 and Chairman of the Board from 2005 until April 25, 2007 the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG.

Life

Heinrich von Pierer attended high school Fridericianum Erlangen and then studied law and economics at the Friedrich -Alexander University in Erlangen and Nuremberg. Criticism

With the takeover of the Presidency Board of Siemens AG violated by Pierer against the Corporate Governance Code, according to which the direct transfer of a CEO is to be avoided in the Supervisory Board chair. Private life, family and Name

From Pierer is married, he and his wife, Annette, have three children and are grandparents. At 18, he won the Bavarian Tennis Youth Championships.

His grandfather, the imperial field marshal lieutenant Edward Pierer, acquired in 1900 payment of 280 Austrian crowns a noble title and put his name to after the "of" the maiden name of his wife, so that the surname now was " Pierer of Esch ". All Austrian noble titles were discontinued in 1919 by the Republic of Austria, but of Pierers father Leo ( 1895-1992 ) moved in 1937 from Austria to Germany and gained citizenship in 1938 as part of the nobility back.
