The Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is the largest commercial airport in Finland. It is located around 15 kilometers north of the center of the capital Helsinki in the city of Vantaa.

The airport was completed in 1951 for the Summer Olympic Games, replacing the too small nascent Helsinki- Malmi. He currently serves approximately 15 million passengers per year and is one of the largest airports in Northern Europe. Terminals

In August 2009, the previously existing separation between an international terminal and a domestic terminal was lifted. Now the neutral designations Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are used. The airport has three runways:

  • 04L/22R ( runway 3, 3060 mx 60 m ), the new parallel runway to the main runway was put into operation on 28 November 2002.
