Hennie Hollink

Hennie Hollink ( born October 1, 1931 in Glanerbrug ) is a Dutch former football player and coach. Since 1983, he coached club no more.

Playing career

Hollink began his career at Avanti Wilskracht. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s he was still moved to Helmondia '55, RKSV Bekkerveld and Rapid JC Kerkrade. Especially in the 1950s, he was successful and won several Dutch top scorer.

Coaching career

After his active football career, Hollink devoted to coaching positions. First club under his leadership, FC Eindhoven. After just one year of this commitment, however, was ended again. In the late 1960s, early 1970s oversaw Hollink the HVC. For the season 1972/73 the football coach of his old club Roda JC Kerkrade, formerly Rapid JC was committed. Immediately, he managed to move up to the first Dutch league. After another year, the paths of both parties parted again, however, and the former attacker went abroad, where he signed a contract with French side Racing Strasbourg. After descending from the highest French League Hollink 1976 was released. So he moved back to the Netherlands, where Heracles Almelo secured the services of the trainer. In Almelo, back in the Eerste Divisie, Hollink was three years. His best finish was in the season 1977/78 tenth. At the end of the first half of the season 1979/80 he took over the fortunes at FC Twente Enschede. After poor start to the season he succeeded Antoine Kohn. Twice sixth in the Eredivisie were the result. However, the following season was rather poor, and in November they parted. In the same year there was a re- employment in France. In 1982 and 1983 he reached with FC Tours twice the semifinals to the Coupe de France. In the league, it was, however, not so good. After the team's 1983 relegation to the second division, Hollink ended his coaching career.

In the meantime, he was again active as interim coach for RBC Roosendaal.
