Henry Hübchen

Henry Hübchen ( born February 20, 1947 in Berlin -Charlottenburg ) is a German actor and composer.

Life

Hübchen graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch" in East Berlin. He was one of the most distinguished actors of the GDR. He was particularly known for his successful collaboration with the theater director Frank Castorf at the Berliner Volksbühne am Rosa- Luxembourg -Platz.

Also numerous theatrical and television films show his versatility as an actor. As a child and teenager, he worked in television and feature films - for example in 1965 in a small supporting role in the first DEFA Indian film The Sons of the Great Bear.

For the group City, he composed several songs, including the song from the same album Casablanca. 1981 and 1982 was also Hübchen GDR champion "board Sailing ".

His most famous films after the turn are Sun Alley, directed by Leander Haussmann, lights, directed by Hans -Christian Schmid and Alles auf Zucker! directed by Dani Levy, for in 2005 he was awarded the German Film Award for Best Actor. In the GDR Hübchen played, among others, in the movie Jacob the Liar by Frank Beyer based on the novel by Jurek Becker.

His daughter Theresa Hübchen is also an actress.
