Henry J. Mansell

Henry Joseph Mansell ( born October 10, 1937 in New York City ) is an American clergyman and Archbishop Emeritus of Hartford.

Life

Henry Joseph Mansell received on 19 December 1962, the ordained priest for the Archdiocese of New York.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on November 24, 1992 in New York and Titular Bishop of Marazanae. The Pope personally donated to it on 6 January of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Giovanni Battista Re, substitute of the Secretariat of State, and Justin Francis Rigali, secretary of the Congregation for Bishops.

On April 18, 1995, he was appointed Bishop of Buffalo and introduced into the office on 12 June of the same year. On 20 February 2003, he was appointed Archbishop of Hartford and introduced into the office on 18 December of the same year.

2012 Mansell blamed the Catholic priest Michael DeVito from the small town of Suffield ( Conn. ), since these had attended the wedding of a same-sex couple.

On October 29, 2013 Francis Pope accepted his resignation age-related.
