Herny
Herny ( German Herlingen ) is a commune with 473 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.
Geography
The community Herny is about 27 kilometers southeast of Metz.
History
The village was first mentioned in 1409 as Hernex and occupied and annexed by France in 1552, which was recognized in the 1648 Peace of Westphalia.
Belonged to the German Empire 1871-1918 Herny, but French remained the official and vernacular.
