Herrenhof
Manor is a municipality in the district of Gotha, Thuringia. She is a member of the administrative community Apfelstädtaue based in George valley.
Geography
Manor is a municipality with an area expansion of about 440 ha The site has about 850 inhabitants. The town is located on the northern slope of the Thuringian Forest at the junction of George Street Thal to High churches. In the south east of the village lies the industrial area Ohrdruf - High Church manor.
History
Manor was first mentioned in documents in 1126.
Manor was in 1674 affected by witch hunts. Marthe Landzin, 60 years old, wife of former mayor Hans Landz, came under the charge of possession of a dragon in a witch trial and was burned.

The Church
Even 12 to 17 century there was a chapel in manor. The first mention of it was in 1143 in a document of the monastery Reinhardsbrunn. To the manor district were at war at that time the monasteries Reinhardsbrunn and George Dale. The dispute ended in 1186 in favor of George Dale. End of the 17th century, the dilapidated chapel was replaced by a new building of 1692. Four years later, the church was consecrated as a branch of the High Church. The for church-goers and school children from the lower village ( today's range Thaler George Street, Old Street, Schönauerstraße ) arduous way across ( through ) the Apfelstädt below the church was only in 1778 facilitated by the construction of the road bridge. In the upper village of manor ( Nauendorfer road ), a large fire destroyed during the night of 26 on February 27, 1882 within a short time five houses and nine barns, even the previous chapel from the 17th century. Only the massive church tower, only 1839 completed by a testamentary 4000 taler donation of the citizen Johann Christian Beck, escaped total destruction. The new building was financed by donations of wealthy citizens. The inhabitants Johann Balthasar Cramer founded in 1800 marks for the new purchase of an organ for the floor, a bell and a chandelier. However, the bell did not survive the Second World War. In the 1970s, severe structural damage disclosed ( dry rot ). 1975, a new organ in the workshop of Rudolf Böhm from Gotha was installed. The parish contributed 35,000 hours of work to secure their place of worship and perform upgrades in a community center. This requires, is the chancel of the church on the first floor, while the ground floor community rooms are housed ( multi-purpose rooms for meetings, youth clubs, etc. and a kitchen ). With the churches and congregations High Petriroda manor forms a common parish.
Partnership
The place has since 1990 maintained close cooperative relations with the community Knüllwald in Hesse.
