Origin of the name

History

The district Borgloh was first mentioned in documents in 1068; the first mention Hilters dates from the year 1144.

Incorporations

On 1 July 1970 the municipality Borgloh created by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Allendorf, Borgloh wave village, Ebbendorf, Eppendorf and Uphöfen. On July 1, 1972 this community was incorporated along with Hankenberge in the community Hilter.
