Hirakawa, Aomori

Hirakawa (Japanese平川 市, -shi ) is a city in Aomori Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.

Geography

Hirakawa is located south of Aomori and northeast of Akita.

History

The city was Hirakawa (尾 上,町-machi ), Hiraka (平 贺,町-machi ) and Ikarigaseki (碇ヶ関 村, -mura ) of the district of Minami- Tsugaru founded on 1 January 2006 from the former municipalities Onoe.
