Hodkovice nad Mohelkou

Hodkovice nad Mohelkou to 1949 Hodkovice, ( German Liebenau ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-west of Jablonec nad Nisou and belongs to Okres Liberec.

Geography

The city is located at the southern foot of the mountain Jeschke between the valleys of Mohelka and Oharka. To the north rises in the districts Záskalí and Žďárek the Javorník ( 684 m). In the south the Jičín hill country begins. By Hodkovice nad Mohelkou the highway R 35 / E 442 runs, the state road 278 branches off to Cesky Dub from the site.

Neighboring towns are Zásada, Záskalí and Bursin in the north, Rádlo and Rychnov Jablonce nad Nisou in the northeast, Rydvaltice, Pelíkovice, Radoňovice, Luhy and Bezděčín in the east, Jílové and Žďárek the southeast, Sedlejovice and Radostín in the south, Vrchovina, Kohoutovice and Citer in southwest, Petrašovice in the west and Bohdánkov and Žďárek in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1352 in a papal tithe book. During this time was the place which was called Hodcouicz or Libenow, part of the Lords of Dražice associated rule Fried stone and lay on the ancient land rising from Prague to Lausitz. This will Liebenau developed into the economic center of rule and received city rights. The owners were the Biebersteiner and Wartenberg. After the uprising of 1547 Adam von Wartenberg associated rule Fried stone was confiscated. The new owner John of Oppersdorff united the gentry and Aicha Fried stone. 1591 acquired the Smiřický of Smiřice the rule, followed them in 1622 Albrecht of Wallenstein, and in 1634 Johann Ludwig Hektor of isolated pawn. Its sister donated the inherited property in 1653 to the monastery of the Augustinian Canons Vienna, was one of the Liebenau until the dissolution of the monastery during the Josephine reforms in 1782. But the situation on the important trade route also led to numerous military marches through; in particular in the Thirty Years' War the city suffered great damage thereby.

1782 the monastery of Vienna Augustinian canons was dissolved by Emperor Joseph II in the course of secularization; the end of the 18th century, the house of Rohan acquired the dominion Bohemian Aicha. 1806 fire destroyed a part of the city.

Until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848 Liebau remained a part of the reign Bohemian Aicha. The large estates remained until the expropriation of Prince Filip Alain Kamil Rohan in 1945 in Rohan, who had their seat at Castle Sychrov. In the 19th century Ferdinand Unger founded a glass jewelry factory, which was widely known.

In 1949 the change of the name Hodkovice Hodkovice nad Mohelkou was.

On 7 October 1977 due to dense fog lost an airplane on the way to Liberec orientation and crashed on a hill overlooking the Mohelkatal. There are four uranium workers from Pribram died.

On the mountain Kostelní vrch southwest of the city there is a sports airfield on which the Aero Club organizes regular flight days.

The city Hodkovice nad Mohelkou consists of the districts Hodkovice nad Mohelkou ( Liebenau ) Jílové ( Jilowei ) Radoňovice ( Radonowitz ) Záskalí ( Saskal ) and Žďárek ( band rings ). To Hodkovice nad Mohelkou also includes the local documents Bursin ( boys) and Zásada.

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Hodkovice nad Mohelkou Jílové u Hodkovic nad Mohelkou Radoňovice and Záskalí.
