Hokkaido Marathon
The Hokkaido Marathon is a marathon, which takes place in Sapporo since 1987. As the only marathon in Japan it is discharged in the summer. It is organized by a committee of local authorities and the media, led by the Sapporo Amateur Athletic Association.
The start and finish are located in Odori Park. The course takes you first through the Susukino district south to Nakajima Park. About the Sōseikawa -dori it goes at the TV tower over to the north, where there is a turning point on the route Shinkawa -dori followed. After 25 km you will reach the northernmost point on Maeda Park. On the way back the grounds of the University of Hokkaido is traversed and passed the former government building of Hokkaido just before the finish.
2009, the final goal of four was extended to five hours.
