Holden Rodeo

The Holden Rodeo is a pickup truck, which was offered from 1980 to 2008 by the General Motors owned, Australian automobile manufacturer Holden.

Rodeo KB (1980-1988)

In December 1980, the rodeo was the Isuzu KB in Japan produced as a variant of the model Isuzu Faster for Holden, presented in Australia. The car was available as a pickup truck, pickup or Double Cab, and was equipped with a 1.6 -liter inline four- cylinder engine developing a power output of 67 bhp (49 kW). It gave him with rear - or all-wheel drive and two different wheelbases and with a manual four-speed transmission with column shifter. The grille had a horizontal chrome bar and was flanked by two round headlights.

The end of 1982 the Rodeo KB received its first facelift. The grille was now split into 2 x 6 box, the round headlights were replaced by rectangular headlamps. A 1.8 -liter gasoline engine R4 and a 2.2 -liter R4 diesel engine were also available from 1983. The top model was the KB28 with 2.0-liter R4 engine and five-speed gearbox.

In February 1984, there was only the 2.0-liter R4 as the basic version; the 2.2 -liter R4 diesel was available on request.

In 1985, the Rodeo KB another facelift and additional set up - as, inter alia, a "Space Cab" ( an extended cab with storage behind the seats ). In addition, the 2.3 -liter R4 engine with toothed belt driven camshaft was offered. Four-speed gearbox and steering wheel gearshift were no longer available from that date.

1986, the 2.3 -liter R4 has been standard equipment, and 1987 was followed by another facelift, inter alia, with an undivided, framed grille.

Rodeo TF (1988-2003)

In August 1988, the new Holden Rodeo TF was presented, who was also again a variant of the by now well renewed Isuzu Faster with longer wheelbases. The chassis was based on a modernized version of the Rodeo KB, superstructures, however, were significantly rounder and more modern. Rectangular headlights with itself thereto closing flashing lights and a black radiator grille with a horseshoe-shaped frame characterized the front. There was also a new interior with a new instrument panel. In addition to the basic model a more luxurious LS version was offered.

On request, there were larger engines, such as a 2.6 -liter R4 with 110 bhp (88 kW ) or two diesel engines with 2.5 liter or 2.8 liter and 78 bhp ( 57 kW ) or 100 bhp (74 kW). In conjunction with the 2.6 liter engine and a four-speed automatic was offered.

1990 and 1992 received the TF Rodeo minor facelifts.

Rodeo RA (2003-2008)

2003, the new RA Rodeo in Australia has been introduced, based on the presented in 2002 Isuzu D-Max series 1. The vehicle was again enlarged in terms of its dimensions, and still available as a pickup with normal and extended cab, is a flatbed and a double cabin. First, a 2.5 -liter R4 turbo diesel with 115 bhp (85 kW) as the sole engine was available; later two petrol engines, a four-cylinder with 2.4 liter displacement and 125 bhp (92 kW) and a V6 came with 3.6 liter displacement and 214 bhp (157 kW), do so. A V6 turbo diesel with 3.0 liters and 145 bhp (107 kW) was also on the engine range. Again, the vehicles with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive were available.

In March 2007, the performance of the 3.0- liter V6 turbo-diesel to 162 bhp (120 kW) was increased.

In October 2008, the successor was presented based on the Chevrolet Colorado, which is also available as an Isuzu D-Max and Colorado as Holden in Australia.
