Hong Cha-ok

Hong Cha -ok ( born March 10, 1970 at the County Gunwi, South Korea) is a South Korean table tennis player. She became world champion in the team competition in 1991 and bronze medal winner at the Olympic Games in 1992.

Career

First international successes achieved Hong Cha -ok at the Asian Youth Championships. Here she was born in 1986 in singles, doubles with Hyun Jung -hwa and Kim Taek -soo Mixed with the final. In 1987 she won the singles title.

She took part in the World Championships 1987, 1991 and 1993. She was world champion in 1991 with the total Korean women's team, she was disqualified in the individual in the quarterfinals of. In 1993 she took with the South Korean women's team bronze.

At the Asian Championships, she won the adults 1988 and 1990 with the team. In 1990, she reached the semifinals in doubles and in mixed doubles with Kim Taek -soo the final. Twice Hong Cha -ok qualified for participation in the Summer Olympics. In 1988, she appeared only in individual in 1992 only in the doubles competition, where she won the bronze medal with Hyun Jung -hwa.

In the ITTF World Ranking 1992 she won 20th place
