Hume Cronyn

Hume Blake Cronyn ( born July 18, 1911 in London, Ontario, Canada, † June 15, 2003 in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States) was a Canadian actor and screenwriter.

Life

Hume Cronyn studied art and law and worked in his early years as an amateur boxer and actor. From 1934 he appeared on Broadway. In Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt (1943 ) he was first seen on the screen. In The Seventh Cross (1944 ), he played an upright Nazi opponents and was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor. Cronyn, whose film career spanned more than 50 years, made ​​himself as a stage actor a name.
