Hwanghae

Hwanghae -do was a Korean province in the center of the country. It was founded in 1395 and divided in Hwanghae- pukto and Hwanghae 1954. Their capital city was Haeju. Hwanghae bordered on P'yŏngan ( after 1896 P'yŏngan - namdo ) in the north, the east Kangwŏn -do, Gyeonggi-do in the south and the Yellow Sea to the west.
