Igor Spasovkhodskiy

Igor Igorewitsch Spassowchodski (Russian Игорь Игоревич Спасовходский, English transcription Igor Spasovkhodskiy, . Born August 1, 1979 in Moscow ) is a Russian athlete. At a height of 1.91 m his competition weight is 91 kg.

Spassowchodski entered 2000 at the Olympic Games in Sydney and was eliminated in 32nd qualifying in the triple jump from. The following year he won with 17,08 m silver at the U23 European Championships in Amsterdam, beaten only by Sweden's Christian Olsson 17.24 m. A month later he won with 17.44 m at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton and the bronze medal was only three inches behind the second-placed Christian Olsson, the world champion Jonathan Edwards had with 17,92 m, however, a significant distance to the two young jumpers.

At the European Indoor Championships 2002 in Vienna Spassowchodski finished with 16.52 m in seventh place. Then Spassowchodski difference in international championships over again from the qualification. It was not until 2005 at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid, he was able to qualify again for a final and then won with 17,20 m and the title. In the summer of 2005, he was the first time Russian champion in the triple jump, but fell short at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki in the final.
