In a Perfect World ... is the debut album by American singer-songwriter Keri Hilson. In the U.S., it came on 24 March 2009 that, after the label had repeatedly postponed the release in 2007 due to financial difficulties and other releases.
The album sold times physically and digitally in the United States over 500,000 and received gold status. Hilson received two Grammy nominations through this album. In German-speaking also the "In a Perfect World - I Like Edition" has been released, which contained the song I Like, the title song of the film Zweiohrküken. The first single from the album was released Energy, these few parts of Europe and the United States. The first official international single was Return the Favor featuring Timbaland. Further publications are Knock You Down, Make Love, Change Me featuring Akon, Turnin Me On featuring Lil Wayne and I Like.
Background
Timbaland and Polow da Don Hilson looked at the recordings of the album over his shoulder. However, they had begun much earlier with the writing of songs and first shots. Some songs she had written for the planned solo album from Nicole Scherzinger, who never appeared. Lil Wayne, Keyshia Cole, Trina, Timbaland, Kanye West, Ne - Yo, Akon and Nicole Scherzinger worked with at Hilson's album. Among other things, Justin Timberlake has a song contributed ( Slow Dance ).

Especially in the U.S. and New Zealand was in a Perfect World ... successful ( gold status in the U.S.). In Germany, the album managed only after the reissue ( I Like Edition ) made it into the charts. Criticism
The album was largely positive. Positive, especially the voice of Keri was evaluated. Point of criticism was the production by Timbaland, the B- numbers lacked innovation in the selection of R & sung. Hilson was also confirmed to be able to take the lead role in further cooperation.
