In My Head is an R & B song of the U.S. singer Jason Derülo, who wrote it together with Moe Faisal, Claude Kelly and JR Rotem. The song was released on December 8, 2009 as the second download single from his debut album Jason Derülo. He became a number -one hit in Australia and the UK and a Top Ten success in the U.S. and Germany as well as in many other countries worldwide.
Derülo sang the song live on the ninth season of American Idol.
Background
In My Head was released as the second single from the debut album. The song is influenced by electronic music and has a rockier sound than Whatcha Say; it is influenced by a Lady Gaga song Just Dance is similar. Derülo explained, In My Head should show the fans the more electronic side of the album.
Remix version
The American rapper Nicki Minaj sings and raps at the official remix version, for which they took themselves additional songwriting and remix production. The remix version of Nicki Minaj was published on 11 March 2010.
Music Video
The music video was filmed in late 2009 and published on 23 January 2010 to YouTube. It begins in a parking lot, Derülo there dancing in front of several black cars. He wears black clothing and blue jeans, the headlights illuminate him. Later, his friends and a dancer come to this. In the video, Derülo communicates with the dancer. At the end of the video Derülo flees with her.
Commercial success
In My Head debuted in the week ending 26 December 2009 to number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 After several weeks, it was with fifth Derülos third top ten hit in the United States. 13 March 2010 the single reached number two in the Canadian Hot 100 and was Derülos second top three single in Canada. In Australia, the single debuted at number one on the Australian charts. They also debuted in the UK at number one on the British charts, becoming the second song there Derülos top three success and his first number -one hit. In Germany launched In My Head at number nine of the Media Control Charts. On 22 June 2010, the single was awarded in the USA with double - platinum.
