Ina Beyermann

Ina Beyermann ( born April 11, 1965 in Leverkusen ) is a German former swimmer who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany. She won two Olympic medals in 1984.

Ina Beyermann began her career at SV Rhenaniastraße Cologne under the coaches Gerhard Hetz and Elmar Schneider, she later moved to study in Hamburg, where she took the SG Hamburg. In 1980 she won at the Junior European Championship three titles in the freestyle distances from 200 meters to 800 meters. In 1981 she won the European Championship in Split fourth place 400-meter freestyle and fifth place 200 -meter freestyle. Two years later at the European Championships in Rome, she finished fourth on 400 meters, the 200 meters and fifth sixth in the 800 meters freestyle. With the 4x200 -meter freestyle relay in Rome she won silver in the 4x100 -meter freestyle relay and the medley relay, she won bronze.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles was Beyermann Seventh over 200 meters freestyle and eighth in the 100 meters butterfly. About 200 meters butterfly, she won bronze behind the U.S. American Mary T. Meagher and the Australian Karen Phillips. The medley relay in the cast Svenja simplicity, Ute Hasse, Ina Beyermann and Karin Seick took second place behind the U.S. season.

After Beyer man was not at his best for some years because of shoulder problems, she was able to qualify again for the 1988 Olympic games in Seoul. About 200 meters butterfly, she was in second place of the B-final decades.

Ina Beyermann won over 30 German league titles in singles and team competition and placed 24 DSV records.
