Into the Unknown (Bad Religion album)

Into the Unknown is an album by the punk rock band Bad Religion from the year 1983. It is so far the least successful album of the band and is due to the conflict-ridden recording sessions, during which the drummer Pete Finestone and bass player Jay Bentley left the band, as crucial for the preliminary separation of the band two years later. In an interview with the German magazine Rock Hard 1989 distances Brett Gurewitz of this album.

On this album, Bad Religion tried to sign up for new influences, such as from the Psychedelic Rock to open. This experiment was considered by the band themselves as having failed and the label Epitaph Records, owned by the guitarist Brett Gurewitz, drew a total of 10,000 copies are not sold back from the market. Later, the remaining plates of Gurewitz 's girlfriend were sold secretly.

As the only album the "classic " Epitaph phase of the band ( How Could Hell Be Any Worse up generator ) was not launched Into The Unknown remastered and new. In general, it is religion never released as a single album of Bad on CD. The only edition since the appearance in 1983 took place in 2010 as part of a vinyl box set instead of the 30-year -anniversary with all so far published 15 studio albums.
