Iranian Assembly of Experts election, 2006

The elections to the expertise of Iran in 2006 were held on 15 December 2006. The highlight of the fourth choice for expert advice, which is performed every 8 years by the people, was the media attention polarization between the fundamentalist Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi and the pragmatic Ayatollah Rafsanjani. The election ended in a victory for the moderate clerics votes against the hard-liners. Hashemi Rafsanjani won the sovereign province of Tehran and thus took over the chairmanship of the Assembly of Experts; Oldest Member ( honorary ) was Ali Meshkini.
