The Irrigation Way is a connecting road to the southwest of the Australian state of New South Wales It connects the Newell Highway in Narrnadera with the Kidman Way and Burley Griffin Way in Griffith.

Course

The Irrigation Way branches off in Narrandera from the Newell Highway ( N39 ) to the northwest. He first runs along the north bank of the Murrumbidgee River and then turns to the north until it reaches Leeton. There he strikes again a north-westerly direction and passes through the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, an agricultural area that is irrigated by the river of the same.

In the settlement Whitton the road bends sharply to the north and extends about 15 km in this direction. Then she turns again sharply to the west and reaches into Yoogali the Burley Griffin Way ( S94 ), with whom she runs the last few miles to Griffith and there on the Kidman Way ( S87 ) ends.

Importance

The Irrigation Way includes the towns of Griffith and Leeton on the shortest route to the Newell Highway at Narrandera. He is the link between the important resources centers of agricultural production and the national highway network and the major markets in Melbourne and Sydney.
