ISO 3166-2:PG

The list of ISO -3166 -2 codes for Papua New Guinea contains the codes for the 18 provinces, 1 autonomous region and one district.

The codes are composed of two parts which are separated by a hyphen. The first part is the country code according to ISO 3166-1 ( for Papua New Guinea PG), the second is the code for the province or district again. The current country code is in the Newsletter II-3 dated 13 December 2011 (PDF ) last updated.

The provinces newly formed 17 May 2012 Hela (previously part of Southern Highlands ) and Jiwaka (previously part of Western Highlands ) have no special code.
