Itarumã

Itarumã is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion southern Goiás and in the micro-region Quirinópolis. It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and the capital of the State of Goiânia. Itarumã is located in the extreme southwest of Goiás on a plateau 474 m with a flat topography.

Other villages in the municipality are Cachoeirinha Olaria do Angico, São Jerônimo and Três Barras.

Location

Itajá borders the following municipalities:

  • To the north by Serranópolis and Jataí
  • To the east by Cacu
  • On the southeast by the Ilha - Solteira Reservoir, Limeira do Oeste ( MG)
  • On the southwest by Itajá
  • To the northwest by Aporé

The community is located between the border rivers Rio Corrente and Rio Verde. Both flow from northwest to southeast and open as the right tributaries in the Rio Paranaíba respectively its reservoir Ilha Solteira, which forms the southeastern boundary of the municipality to the State of Minas Gerais.
