Ivan Kelava

Ivan Kelava ( born February 20, 1988 in Zagreb, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian football player. Since 2013 he is at Udinese Calcio under contract.

Playing career

Association

Ivan Kelava began his football career with the Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb. At 18, he moved into the professional squad of Dinamo. In his first professional season, he was only on a bet. The following season, Kelava was used seven times.

At the beginning of the season 2008/ 09 the previous ordinary keeper Georg Koch suffered an ear injury. Kelava argued from now on with the experienced Tomislav Butina around the place in goal. Due to minor injuries Butinas Kelava came to a total of ten missions in the Croatian league. In the second round of qualifying for the Champions League against NK Domzale he made his first game on the international stage and stood in the following round and leaving against Shakhtar Donetsk in the field. It was followed by three more missions in the UEFA Cup. For the 2009/10 season Kelava was loaned to NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in order to gain more match practice. When local rivals Dinamo he became the first-choice goalkeeper and showed strong performances. Until the end of August 2010, he stayed with Lokomotiva. In September Kelava returned to Dinamo Zagreb and has been the number one goal. He played in all league games. Even in the six missions in the Europa League Dinamo played with Kelava three times to zero, but that could not prevent the elimination in the group stage.

In the following seasons was Kelava as the number one goal for Dinamo.

In the summer of 2013 his move to FC Granada was actually already fixed. The leaders of both teams could in principle already reached an agreement. Also, the player was assumed that he would go to Granada. The change was bursting but for unknown reasons. Some days later, the Italian first division club, Udinese Calcio, the obligation of Kelava known. He immediately replaced the actual number one, Željko Brkić which precipitated several months due to injury.

National

For Croatian Junior National Team Ivan Kelava denies regularly Games since 2004. 2006/ 07 he graduated to Austria and Greece his first two appearances for the Croatian U-19 selection. On 11 February 2009, he went 2-1 in a friendly against Macedonia for the first time for the U -21. As the year progresses Kelava was the number one, and completed all qualifying matches for the U-21 European Championship.
