Jaap Boot

Jaap boat (actually: Jan Jacobus boat; born March 1, 1903 in Wormerveer, † June 14, 1986 in Dordrecht ) was a Dutch athlete.

Boat traveled as owner of the Dutch cup record in the long jump at the 1924 Olympics in Paris. His national record of 7.06 meters would have meant the fifth place in the Games, with its 6.86 meters, he finished eighth. Four days after the long jump competition, the 4 x 100 - meter relay team was on the program. In the first advance provided the British relay to individual Olympic champion Harold Abrahams with 42.0 seconds to set a world record.
