Jack Gilford

Jack Gilford, ( born July 25, 1907 in New York, New York, † June 2, 1990 ibid.; actually Jacob Gellman ) was an American actor who was known primarily for comedy roles.

During the McCarthy era in the 1950s, he was like his colleague Zero Mostel, is on the "black list " and was banned from working.

Gilford was nominated twice for the Tony Award for his involvement in musicals: as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical) for Toll overdone it the ancient Romans (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, 1963) and as Best Actor (Musical ) in "Cabaret" (1967).
