Jack McConnell

Jack Wilson McConnell, Baron McConnell (* June 30, 1960 in Irvine ) was 2001-2007 First Minister of Scotland.

He is chairman of the Labour Party in Scotland and a member of the Scottish Parliament for Motherwell and Wishaw. With McConnell as the leading candidate Labour defended in the Scottish Parliament elections in 2003 its leading position despite seat losses.

He is a member of Amnesty International and Friends of the Earth.
