Jack Nicholls

John "Jack" Nicholls (* July 16, 1943 ) is a former bishop of the Church of England. From 1997 to 2008 he was Bishop of Sheffield.

After studying at King's College London and a college in Warminster, he served as a curate at churches in Salford and Manchester, then as vicar and director of pastoral studies at a college in Mirfield. From 1983 to 1990 he was a canon of the Cathedral of Manchester. In 1990 he became Suffragan Bishop of Lancaster and provided this office until 1997, when he was appointed the sixth Bishop of Sheffield. On his 65th birthday on 16 July 2008, he retired.

On July 4, 2003, he was introduced in the House of Lords as Lord Spiritual ( minister Lord ).

Nicholls is married to Judith Dagnall since 1969. The couple has two sons and two daughters.
