Jacob Karlzon

Jacob Karlzon (* October 19, 1970 in Jönköping ) is a Swedish jazz pianist and composer. He is considered " one of the outstanding pianists in the wake of a Esbjörn Svensson. "

Life and work

Karlzon laid in 1992 his debut album. In Sweden, he won the 1997 attention with the Malmö combo Blue Pages. International since 1999 as the musical director of the band of Viktoria Tolstoy emerged, with whom he was on numerous tours and for which he also composed. Prizes and awards

In 1997 he was awarded the band BluePages with the price Jazz i Sverige. In the same year he was elected by the jazz critics in the Swedish Radio P2 Newcomer of the Year. With the quartet of Peter Asplund Quartet he won the 2007 Gyllene Skivan and the manifest gala awards with Lochiel 's Warning. In 2010 he received the Swedish Django d'Or in the category Contemporary Star of Jazz. The Hörerpoll Swedish Radio sets him apart in the same year as a jazz musician of the year.
