James Koskei
James Koskei ( born November 23, Uasin Gishu District 1968 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.
At the World Cross Country Championships 1999, he was fifth on the short distance and pulled with the Kenyan team gold.
At its premiere on the 42,195 -km distance, the Chicago Marathon in 2004, he put the first half in 1:03:42 hours back, but stopped and finished only 18th place in 2:18:40 h Dubai Marathon 2007, he was ninth with his personal best of 2:14:02 h
Shortly afterwards, he scored his best result at a major marathon when he was in the Boston Marathon in storm -like conditions fourth in 2:15:05 h. In 2008 he was at the same place ninth.
Koskei is a former football player. He joined in 1995 the Running team of Kenyan army. He is married, father of three children and is managed by German coach Dieter Hogen.
