James Peter Davis

James Peter Davis ( born June 9, 1904 in Houghton, Michigan, USA; † 4 March 1988) was Archbishop of Santa Fe.

Life

James Peter Davis received on 19 May 1929, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On July 3, 1943, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Bishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico. The Bishop of Tucson, Daniel James Gercke, donated to it on 6 October of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco, Thomas Arthur Connolly, and the auxiliary bishop in Los Angeles, Joseph Thomas McGucken. Pope John XXIII. ordered him on April 30, 1960 Archbishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico.

On January 3, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him. Archbishop of Santa Fe. James Peter Davis resigned as Archbishop of Santa Fe on June 1, 1974.
