Jamsrangiin Sambuu

Dschamsrangiin Sambuu (Mongolian Жамсрангийн Самбуу; born 27 June 1895 in Buren Sum, Zentralaimag, † May 21, 1972 in Ulan Bator ) was a Mongolian politician and diplomat. He was from 1954 until his death president of the Mongolian People's Republic.

Life

Sambuu was the son of a shepherd and stockman (Mongolian арат, stearate ) was born. At age 16, he was a clerk in the municipality or aimag administration. In 1922, he joined the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party ( MPRP ).

From 1922 to 1930 he was an employee in the Ministry of Finance of the Mongolian People's Republic. From 1930 to 1936 he worked in the administration and the party in different aimags, among other things, in Archangai aimag and in the Central and South Gobi aimag, where Sambuu was a member of the Central Executive Committee. In 1936 he headed a department in the Ministry of Livestock and agriculture.

From 1937 to 1946, Sambuu envoy of the Mongolian People's Republic in Moscow, 1946-1950 Head of Department at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Mongolian People's Republic, 1950-1952 Ambassador to Pyongyang ( DPRK ) and 1952-1954 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as 1953/1954 Vice-Chairman of society of Mongolian- Soviet Friendship.

1951 Sambuu was elected to the Great People's Khural and on 7 July 1954 to the Chairman of the Presidium of the Great People's Churals ( = President ).

Since 1954 Sambuu was also a member of the Central Committee and member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the MPRP.
